What Are the Common Types of Nitriding Furnaces?
A quenching furnace refers to an electric fuel-fired furnace used for heating workpieces. Common heat treatment furnaces include box-type resistance furnaces, pit-type resistance furnaces, gas carburizing furnaces, salt bath furnaces, others. Generally, continuous furnaces are employed, in which workpieces are continuously fed through an inlet continuously discharged through an outlet. The most common internal conveying method involves placing workpieces on heat-resistant steel rails to facilitate transport via walking beams pushers. In recent years, heat-resistant steel conveyor belts have increasingly been adopted for transport. During the heat treatment process—given the diversity of heat treatment techniques the variety of workpiece shapes sizes—different classification methods highlight distinct characteristics:
(1) Classified by mechanization method: Roller-hearth furnaces, walking-beam furnaces, car-bottom furnaces, external-chamber furnaces, chain furnaces, rotary-hearth furnaces, vibrating-hearth furnaces, bell-type furnaces, etc.;
(2) Classified by maximum operating temperature: High-temperature heat treatment furnaces (furnace temperature > 1000°C); medium-temperature heat treatment furnaces (650°C to 1000°C); low-temperature heat treatment furnaces (< 650°C);
(3) Classified by primary heat treatment process: Furnaces for solution treatment, quenching, normalizing, tempering, annealing, carburizing, other chemical heat treatments;
(4) Classified by production mode: Batch-type furnaces continuous furnaces;
